Some orders should never
have been shipped.

Forewarn scores every new order the second it lands — using what your store already knows — and tells you the handful worth a second look. Before the parcel goes out, not after the chargeback arrives.

Why Forewarn

It reads the order the way an experienced merchant would

No black box, no machine-learning score you have to take on faith. Fifteen concrete checks, every one explained in plain English, every one tunable.

An address that isn't theirs

A returning shopper suddenly shipping somewhere they've never shipped, or to a different country entirely. Normal when someone moves. Also exactly what a taken-over account looks like.

One address, several accounts

The clearest signal in the set. When one delivery address starts collecting orders from different emails you are looking at a drop — and Forewarn names the accounts.

Orders coming in too fast

A stolen card gets used hard and quickly. Forewarn counts orders per shopper and is not fooled by name+1@, name+2@ or dotted Gmail aliases.

Throwaway inboxes

Hundreds of known burner-mail providers, checked offline in an instant. And because most honest customers use Gmail, a free mailbox alone can never flag an order.

A first order that's too big

Compared against your typical order, not a number we invented. Nobody discovers a store and immediately spends six times its normal basket.

Addresses that can't be real

A US postcode that isn't in the state on the label. A missing street. A freight forwarder where a home should be. Small tells that add up.

How it works

Install it, then forget it

There is nothing to configure and nothing to paste into your theme.

1

Install from OpoShop

One approval. Forewarn asks for read access to your orders and customers, plus permission to put a message in your notification bell. That is the whole list.

2

Every new order gets scored

The moment an order is placed, Forewarn reads it, checks fifteen signals, and gives it a score out of 100 with the reasons attached.

3

You hear about the ones that matter

A note in your OpoShop bell, an email for anything genuinely high-risk, and a daily digest. Quiet by default — you will not be spammed into muting it.

The dossier

A score you can argue with

Open any order and you get the whole case file: every signal that fired, the literal evidence behind it, and the points it added. Plus the checks that passed — so a low score is as trustworthy as a high one.

  • "Two other accounts shipped to this exact address in the last 30 days"
  • "First-ever order from this shopper, worth $412.00 — 6.2× your typical $66.00 order"
  • "ZIP 97209 is not in NY — the state and postcode disagree"
  • Mark it looked-at, flag it, or set it aside — with a note to your future self

Tuning

See what a change does before you make it

Drag any weight and Forewarn replays your real order history against the new settings live — showing you exactly which past orders would change verdict, by name. No guessing, no "let's see how it goes next month".

  • Every rule on/off, with its own weight
  • Your own thresholds for "worth a look" and "review"
  • Sensible defaults, so most stores never touch it
  • Saving re-checks your whole history instantly
Read-only, verified in code

Forewarn cannot touch your money. At all.

It flags and it tells you. It has no ability to charge, refund, capture, void, cancel, edit, fulfil or delete anything — and that is enforced three separate ways.

OpoShop enforces it

Forewarn only ever asks for orders:read, customers:read, users:read and permission for its own notifications and webhooks. OpoShop itself refuses anything else.

The code has no such path

There is exactly one non-read call in the whole app, and all it does is put a message in your notification bell. No refund call exists to be triggered by a bug.

And it re-checks itself

Every time it boots, Forewarn scans its own source for a write path to an order or a payment — and shows you the result inside the app. You do not have to take our word for it.

Loved by merchants

The orders you would have shipped

★★★★★

"Three orders, three different Gmail accounts, same flat in one week. I would never have joined those dots at 11pm on a Friday. Forewarn did it before I printed the first label."

RM Rosa M.Homeware · 120 orders/mo
★★★★★

"What sold me is that it explains itself. It doesn't say 'risk 74', it says exactly what it noticed. I can decide in ten seconds instead of stewing about it all day."

DA Dev A.Streetwear · 400 orders/mo
★★★★★

"I was nervous about giving an app anything near my orders. Then I read that it can't write to them at all — and it shows you the check. That's the right way round."

JK Jo K.Stationery · 60 orders/mo

FAQ

Questions worth asking

Does Forewarn cancel or hold risky orders?
No — and it deliberately cannot. Forewarn has no write access to your orders or payments, so it is incapable of cancelling, holding, refunding or editing anything. It flags the order and puts the reasons in front of you; the decision, and the action, stay entirely yours in your own OpoShop admin.
Will it flag half my customers?
It shouldn't. The default threshold only speaks up for genuinely high-risk orders, and the weak signals are deliberately handicapped — a free Gmail address, for instance, can never flag an order on its own, because most real shoppers use one. If it is still too noisy for your store, every rule has its own weight, and you can see the effect of a change before you save it.
What data does it use? Do I need another service?
Only what your store already holds: the order, the customer record, and Forewarn's own history of orders it has scored for you. No third-party fraud service, no API key to obtain, no per-check fee, and nothing leaves your store to be scored elsewhere.
How fast is it?
Immediate. Forewarn subscribes to your store's order events, so the score exists within about a second of an order being placed — well before you would normally get to it.
Is it useful on a small store?
That is exactly who it is for. Big merchants have fraud teams; a store doing 60 orders a month has a founder and a gut feeling. One prevented chargeback usually covers a lot of months.
What happens to my data if I uninstall?
Uninstalling pauses Forewarn and keeps your rules and history intact, so a reinstall picks up where you left off. If you would rather it were gone, Settings → Erase data deletes every scored order for your store immediately.

Know before you ship.

Install Forewarn from the OpoShop App Store, answer one question, and every order after that gets checked. It never touches your money — it just makes sure you saw it coming.
